Quick Tomato and Basil Spaghetti

Ingredients
1 packet of spaghetti
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
1kg ripe tomatoes
8 shallots
2 teaspoons basil
½ cup water
Pepper
Salt

Method
Cook the spaghetti according to packet directions.
Chop the tomatoes and shallots roughly.
Melt butter in a fry pan and add crushed garlic.
Stir and simmer gently for 1 minute.
Add tomatoes and cook gently stirring for another minute.
Add tomato paste, water, basil and shallots.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer uncovered for at least 3 minutes or until the spaghetti is cooked.
Drain spaghetti and pour sauce over the spaghetti.
