Tomato and Beef Ragout
Ingredients
500g diced beef
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion
2 carrots
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
3 stalks celery
1 cup red wine
700g bottle Italian cooking sauce
1 teaspoon rosemary
2 teaspoons thyme
Bread rolls
Method
Toss beef in flour.
Heat oil in a saucepan and add beef and brown.
Remove meat from saucepan
Peel and chop onion and carrot.
Roughly chop celery.
Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery to the saucepan.
Cook until onion is translucent.
Add meat and wine.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add Italian cooking sauce, rosemary and thyme.
Cover an simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours.
Serve with bread rolls.
