Beef and Snow Pea Stir-fry
Ingredients
500g sliced beef
2 tablespoons ketjap manis (Thick Sweet soy sauce can be made using normal thick soy sauce and adding brown sugar)
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
2 tablespoons peanut oil
1 teaspoon chilli paste
1 onion
400g snow peas
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon honey
2 cups rice
Method
Combine beef, ketjap manis and garlic in a bowl and refrigerate until necessary.
Cook rice to packet instructions.
Top and tail snow peas.
Peel onion and cut into wedges.
Heat wok or electric frypan over high heat.
Add oil.
Add beef and stir fry until browned.
Remove to a plate.
Add chilli and onion.
Stir fry for 2 minutes.
Add snow peas stir fry for 30 seconds.
Add water.
Cover with a lid cook for 30 seconds.
Remove lid.
Add honey return beef and juices to pan.
Stir fry for 1 minute or until heated through.
Serve immediately on a bed of rice.
