Basic Beef and Mushroom Casserole
Ingredients
1kg diced beef
¼ cup seasoned flour
1 leek
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
125g mushrooms
4 cups beef stock
2 tablespoons tomato paste
Method
Slice leek and mushrooms.
Place meat into a plastic bag with flour.
Shake well to coat.
Cook meat until well browned.
Transfer to a casserole dish.
Sauté leek and garlic in the same pan for 1 minute.
Add mushrooms.
Cook stirring for 1 minute.
Blend in combined stock and tomato paste.
Pour over meat stirring.
Bake covered at 180C for about an hour or when the meat is tender.
